A Conversation About Growth, Housing & the Future of Freeborn County.


Join the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce for the Future of Freeborn Community Forum, an evening of conversation about some of the opportunities and challenges shaping our community, including economic development, housing, workforce, and how these issues intersect with the everyday lives of people who live and work here.

Rather than a series of formal presentations, the forum will feature a moderated, fireside-chat-style conversation with local leaders working directly on these issues. Panelists will include City and County leadership, with the discussion being moderated by the ALFC Chamber’s Executive Director, Valerie Lockhart.

Together, we’ll explore questions such as:

  • What kinds of growth are we seeing, and what could come next?
  • How does housing availability affect employers, workers, families, and communities?
  • What barriers are holding development back?
  • How do economic development, housing, workforce, and quality of life influence one another?
  • What decisions and investments today could shape Freeborn County ten or twenty years from now?

Before and after the forum, attendees are invited to connect with local civic organizations, community groups, and candidates for public office who will be available at informational tables.

This event is designed to create space for conversation, connection, and a deeper understanding of the forces shaping Freeborn County’s future.

Residents, employers, community leaders, students, candidates, and anyone interested in the future of our region are encouraged to attend.
